FAQs (and dog pics)

So, what do I do for a living?

I am a travel nurse! I think the number one best career for RV-ers is being retired, and a lot of RV-ers are, but being a travel nurse is a close second. I have so many options for places I can work as a travel nurse.

Why did you choose an RV and not a van? Why a 5th wheel and not a class C?

Me and my boyfriend didn't choose a van because we each have a large crate-trained dog. Jade is 50 pounds and Lexi is 60 pounds and their crates are large.

The dog crates had to stay because our dogs are both rescues and the crates reduce their anxiety. We wanted more room to accommodate this as well as some other things, so we went with an RV.

As for the camper, me and my boyfriend both work full time in-person (not remote) jobs - so we wanted 2 vehicles that were reasonable to drive to work. We really did want a truck/camper combo to be able to leave the camper at the campsite and have another vehicle in case we work on the same days. So we have the truck, the camper, and a car.

Between a trailer or a 5th wheel, the 5th wheel is easier to drive and has extra space.

Do you off-grid?

No, not yet! Coming soon in 2022.

We mostly stay at RV parks, campgrounds and trailer parks.

Do you have to empty the tanks?

Yes, if you live in a camper, you have to empty the tanks! It's not a gross as it sounds. But, then again, I'm a nurse. I can't take the credit for doing this chore though, my boyfriend is a gentleman and empties the tanks every time.

I recommend a good tank treatment to put in your tank and you will not have any smells.

What made you want to sell everything, end your lease, and buy a camper?

I have wanted to travel nurse since nursing school, and Covid was the perfect time to start. I love travel; my goal is to visit all the national parks. A lot of travel nurses stay in hotels, but that just wasn't for us because Jade is a pit bull. So, no air planes and no hotels.
