Top 5 Things To Do When Visiting Cities

Each city has it's charm and touristy things to do while in the area. Maybe a beach, a casino, a museum. Here's some ideas for if you run out of ideas, that all cities will likely have.

Murder Mystery Dinner / Dinner Theater

We visited a murder mystery dinner in Atlanta, GA last year. Hosted by The Dinner Detective in a hotel ball room, we were served dinner while we connected the dots and solved the mystery. We had a blast, it was super fun, and the food was pretty good, too. They award the most correct answer at the end of the dinner.

(Protip, other people will have guessed the correct murderer, so if you want to be the winner, when you're submitting your answer include as many details as possible so your answer is the most correct. Don't just right the murders first name - write first, last, alias, description, motive, when, where, how, etc.)

Breweries / Restaurants

We like craft beer. If you perhaps don't, you'll be able to find whatever consumable item your heart desires: food, coffee / tea, boba, ice cream, etc.

My method for finding what's good in town is this: Google Maps, search "restaurants" (or whatever you need), then filter the results by selecting "Top Rated". But, if you can, a better way would be to ask a local :)

Axe Throwing

Cities have an abundance of things to do like this. Axe throwing is popular, but you could also go to an arcade, play pool, darts, or visit batting cages.

Botanical Gardens

You will likely be able to find a beautiful botanical garden in any city you go. We visited The Huntington Botanical Gardens in San Marino, CA near Los Angeles, and Fort Worth Botanic Garden in Fort Worth, TX near Dallas.

Escape Rooms

This is our number one. This is the must do for us. We do escape rooms in nearly every city we visit. Our favorites so far have been Once Upon an Escape in Las Vegas, NV and Red Door Escape Room in Fort Worth, TX.
